5th and 6th grade students have the opportunity to join the Daniel Pratt Elementary School Choir. The choir meets during PE every Friday and has a few performances throughout the school year.
Students who wish to participate in the DPES Choir will need to audition. This is an opportunity to hear each individual student’s voice. Students will be able to select their own audition piece as long as it is school appropriate. Auditions will be help on Friday, August 19, during PE.
There will be two required evening performances this year. The Christmas Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 5th, at 6:00 pm. Please go ahead and mark this on your calendar. The date for the spring concert is May 6th, 2024, also at 6:00 pm. There will be an after school rehearsal for each concert- December 1st, and May 3rd. They will end at 4:30. We may also have additional performances in the community. Dates for those will be sent home as soon as they are confirmed.
Choir will begin on Friday, September 8th. Due to the cost of music and supplies, choir does cost $15. The money for choir will be due by Friday, September 15th, by 8:00 AM. This is nonrefundable and will cover each participant’s music, t-shirt, and music folder.

Experience:
I began my teaching career in August 2012, as the band director at Georgia Washington Middle School in Montgomery. I taught middle school band (grades 6-8) for a year and was then fortunate to receive the job here at Daniel Pratt Elementary School. I began teaching at DPES in August of 2013 and I've been here ever since. This is my 11th year here at Daniel Pratt and I'm looking forward to what's in store!
Bio:
I was born and raised here in Prattville and was actually a part of the first 2nd grade class to walk in the doors here at Daniel Pratt when the school opened. I started band in 7th grade at Prattville Junior High and my interest in music only grew from there. After participating in the marching band at Prattville High School, I went on to perform with the Auburn University Marching and Symphonic Bands. War Eagle! I've been able to travel all over the country by participating in the bands at PHS and Auburn University
I'm fortunate to be able to teach at the same school I grew up in and with my mom, a 3rd grade math teacher here. I love deep sea fishing with my dad, spending time with my brother, Elijah, sister, Hannah, and my precious nephew, Eli. I also enjoy taking my dog, Sadie, to the dog park!
